So recently I was invited to a House of Fraser event at Baracoa Bar in Leeds. There doesn’t seem to be as much going on blogger wise in Leeds as in Manchester so I was really looking forward to it. I met up with the lovely Jess from Forever Miss Vanity and we found seats on the FROW.
I had a busy day so headed straight to the event in day wear but I happen to love this outfit anyway…
Casual white shirt, £28 by Topshop
Joni jeans in blue gingham, £38 by Topshop
2 Part heartbreaker sandals in white, £28 by (you guessed it) Topshop
I’m trying to be more adventurous with my jewellery right now and I love these two from LVNDR:
Stardrop crystal ring, £4.29 and Heart Outline ring, £3.59
The bag is Balenciaga and an absolute dream!
My Halo charm necklace is also LVNDR, £6.99
And now lets head into the event…
We were greater with Johnnie Walker and ginger drinks and goodie bags filled with lovely bits and pieces (thinks Clarins minis and Marc Jacobs perfume samples).
The bar itself was beautiful. I’ve never been in here before as it’s the other side of town to me but I will certainly be back!
There were a few stands from the likes of Bobbi Brown and (my fave) Benefit as well as a perfume stand. I’ve been lusting over all the new benefit releases due soon… I can’t wait!
The bar looked incredible and a bartender whipped me up a rather alcoholic long island ice tea…
Which as you can see was delicious!
We were treated to a catwalk show (always a winner) with looks from Whistles, Biba, Zara Mia, Label Lab and FCUK. I only got to see the first half as I had to rush off but here are a few of my favourite things (I hope you sang that last part)!
ALTERNATIVE MODEL ALERT! This was like THE highlight for me. I love seeing models on the catwalk outside of the norm. Not only did we see curves but tattoos and piercings too! Any brands that at least try to reflect the diverse nature of humans is alright by me!
Gatsby inspired and GAGA inspired heels! I’m not sure how she walked in them but bravo!
Cool layering. I love the clashing print detail and the colour pop of this look.
One popular theme was oriental inspo. Think intricate folding, waist cinching sashes and bold prints.
This graphic print really caught my eye.
Sheer paneling and intricate detail made me love this look. And who doesn’t own and love a good pair of skinny black jeans.
This laid-back jumper and dressy skirt make the perfect smart-casual mix! I can’t wait to style a similar look for when the clouds roll in.
As ever, I’m in love with anything gold embossed (hello Whistles and Aspinal of London) so this gorgeous, simple white clutch was right up my street. Plus whites so diverse, it will go with anything!
And of course an amazing underwear look. Super chic and sexy is all that needs to be said. My only complaint about the night would be the runway up-lighting! Other than that the event was a lot of fun.
I had a fab time and was so excited to be contacted by House of Fraser who have kindly sent me some beautiful underwear so look out for that next!
Do you shop at HoF? They stock so many brands but which is your favourite? I think mine has to be Whistles (so dreamy!!).
A faux-ginger, gin drinking, digital marketing gal with a thing for food styling. That was basically my old Tinder bio... Living in Leeds, I'm forever heading out for dinner, buying too many clothes, spending 50% of my money on ubers and, as of now, putting my stamp on my new apartment!
