So I’ve been pretty excited about the Company Style Blogger Awards since I found out I’d been shortlisted a while back for best personal style newcomer. Plus, any excuse to get dressed up and have a pamper is fine by me. I Instagrammed my whole day – you can check it our HERE – but I figured you guys would be interested in the ins and outs…
11:00am Westrow Salon
The first stop of the day was getting my hair sorted in town!
I’m in love with my peach midi dress from ASOS, £68. I also spotted the Londoner wearing this dress AND Mollie King from the Saturdays! I bought it a while back for my University Summer Ball and I love the fact you can easily dress it up and down.
I was booked in for a curly blow dry. I was actually excited as my hair hasn’t been long enough to get one for as long as I can remember!
Green Tea for me please <3
The finished look! I absolutely loved my hair. Scott at Westrow did an amazing job, especially considering how bad my ends are – I’m desperate for a cut, I just need to find a hair dresser!
The products he used made my hair glossy and the curls held until bedtime!
L’Oreal Super Hero Super Dust RRP around £12 gives ultimate volume, especially at the roots!
Kerastase Coutoure Laque Noir Hair Spra, RRP around £15 provides hold for the whole day.
Moroccan Oil Treatment, RRP around £14 smooths and softens hair.
12:30pm Benefit at House of Fraser
The next stop on the list was the Benefit counter at House of Fraser. I met Natalie, the lovely benebabe, at a recent HoF event which you can read more about HERE!
First thing was to prep my skin: Instant comeback (£36), triple performing moisture (£21.50) and it’s potent eye cream (£25.50) were all use to hydrate my face. Instant comeback is a new favourite of mine. The products plumped my skin and made it glow. I have soft skin anyway but this was another level! I hate greasy products that sit on your skin so THANKFULLY Benefit have created ones that do the exact opposite! They skin into your skin giving you a huge boost of hydration!
Primer was the next essential step. My makeup had to last a train journey to London and partying till late. Natalie applied both Porefessional, £24.50 (which I’m obsessed with and use daily) and Stay Flawless 15 hour primer, also £24.50. The Stay Flawless works as a glue to hold your foundation. My makeup was still perfectly in place when I got home so this product is a real winner for me.
Natalie used Boi ing concealer, £17.50 and Fake Up, £18.50 to brighten my eyes.
The final step to securing my coverage was to add Stay Flawless powder, £25.50 for extra hold!
With my base flawless it was time to move on to eyes…
I had big hair and a statement jumpsuit to wear so I wanted my makeup to be quite classic. I went for a Hollywood glamour look with gold smokey eyes and red lips!
Natalie blended different shades together and create a bespoke look using favourites like Gilt-y pleasure and Kiss me I’m tispy, all £15.50.
She also used the not yet available They’re real push up liner on me which I’ve already been converted too. More about benefits new releases soon including the new They’re real remover! I love the new trademark Bene-wing! Moving onto my brows, they are quite naturally thick so Natalie just added Gimme Brow, £17.50 to fill any gaps.
Natalie finished the look by adding Posietint, £24.50 and their Dandelion blush, £23.50, which is a personal favourite of mine. The pair created a light pink flush that looked natural and so pretty.
I really loved the finish look and amazingly, my makeup still looked great on the train ride home at 2am!
1:30pm Hepworths Deli
I didn’t have much time for lunch so I popped into Hepworths and picked up a few picnic pieces to enjoy on the train!
Scotch eggs, pork pies, lemon drizzle cake… YUM!
2 :30pm Train from Leeds to London KX
Last minute as always, me and Jamie just about made the train after a huge parking dilema… So we treated ourselves to a glass of vino or two!
5:00pm Arrived in London
We grabbed at cab with Uber and headed to the rather alternative venue!
6:00pm The Oval Space
We arrived at the venue and had to get some photos!
My jumpsuit is from Warehouse HERE. It was £80 but you can pick it up for £45 now!
My necklace is the Halo charm necklace from LVNDR, £6.99.
There was a BBQ going on when we arrived and delicious Losely ice cream. I went for strawberry and clotted cream, mmm <3
There were adorable flowers and strawberry plants growing but they didn’t fancy joining the fun.
We went inside and took more photos! There were picnic tables, cushions and wild flowers which made for a really cool, laid-back festival style.
We enjoyed the free bar, lots of champagne for us!
I moved on to Elderflower and Lime Kopparberg in cute American style red cups!
There were lots of different tables with nails, temporary tattoos and hair bars. My favourite section was the #MissguidedFest where you could get your hair styled with cool braids and style outfits!
I love this look, all from Missguided obviously!
Manda Coral Backpack, £15.99
Danella Patch Shorts, £24.99
Vakare Rose Crown Headband, £9.99
Kezia Circle Sunglasses, £5.99
Kamila Daisy Chain Necklace in Silver, £7.99
I couldn’t find the exact crop top but there are similar ones HERE and HERE. The kimono isn’t online yet but I love it so I’ll be keeping my eye out for it!
I got a nice suprise when I spotted my outfit on Company’s twitter…
We both had a lot of fun and even though I didn’t win, I was so proud to get shortlisted! We dashed over before it ended to grab some sneaky sushi before our train home!
10pm Yo! Sushi
The kitchen was closed but we pretty much managed to clear what was left on the belt! I spotted some chicken gyoza and Jamie went with spicy chicken ISO.
After filling up we pottered back towards Kings Cross…
And made a quick pit stop from some more photos obviously!
I have to have my Harry Potter moment every time we’re at KX.
I had an absolutely amazing time and to top it off we were given goodie bags to take home which were PACKED!
There was quite literally all sorts:
Kinder Bueno, Pop chips, Thorntons chocolate slabs, Kallo dark chocolate rice cakes, Shloer, Body Shop hair chalk, Lee Stafford Ubuntu hair stuff, blistex lip balm, burts bees lipbalm, Elemis lipbalm, Too Faced better than sex (apparently) mascara, Nair argan oil hair removal cream, Barry M Gel nail polish, Lipcote, St Moriz instant tan, Soap and glory hand food, So…? Burlesque perfume, 2true eye shadow, a beauty bay blending sponge and a witch hazel blemish stick!
Thank you so much to everyone who voted for The Fashion Fictionary. I had such an amazing time. I’d love to hear what you thought of the night so leave me a comment below and we can talk more <3
A faux-ginger, gin drinking, digital marketing gal with a thing for food styling. That was basically my old Tinder bio... Living in Leeds, I'm forever heading out for dinner, buying too many clothes, spending 50% of my money on ubers and, as of now, putting my stamp on my new apartment!
