OOTD: 70s Paisley Print

Everybody stop what you’re doing and go online shopping immediately! The queen of 70’s styling, Megan Ellaby (or Asos Megan as you may know her), has teamed up with ASOS to create her own capsule collection of tops and quite frankly your wardrobe is crying out for slice of this vintage-esque fashion gold-mine. If you follow me on insta (The Fashion Fictionary) you’ll know how much I’ve been obsessing over the collection and it took some serious willpower not to add every single piece to my basket. Friday’s been good enough to stop by once again which means another dose of fashion and I’m channeling some seriously autumnal shades in this outfit, which features one of my favourite pieces from the MeganXAsosTops line…

PAISLEY PRINT TOP | RUST A-LINE SKIRT (similar) | FRINGED BAG* | KNEE HIGH BOOTS | BLUE STONE CHOKER*

I adore just about everything about the top: the cut out back, waist tie, keyhole front and especially the vibrancy of the material! On the website the colours look a little muted but it’s actually a gorge vibrant orange shade. Layered over a rust skirt, it’s the equivalent of finding a satisfyingly crunchy leaf… Autumnal heaven!

My over the knee babies never really went away for Summer, did they? I just can’t resist them and now the weathers getting colder I hardly need an excuse to wear them just about everywhere. Teamed with my new fringed bag (you will NEVER guess where it’s from!!) and a colour palette Iris Apfel would be proud of (if you don’t know who that is, google her immediately – you won’t regret it), this look ticks all the 70’s trend boxes yet still stands out from the crowd.

The choker wasn’t something I expected to like until I popped it on and thought what the heck! I’ve recently discovered La Moda which is an Aladin’s Cave of quirky treasures with tiny price tags. They also have faux septum rings which I LOVE.

Are you and your wardrobe ready for A/W? What do you think of the Megan X Asos Tops collection? Let me know in the comments!

Love Lucinda xx

Gorgeous look! I didn’t think I was into the 70s style at all until it came out this season, now I want all of it – I think it’s because the colours tie in so well to autumn. The skirt looks amazing 🙂
