The Liverpool Day Trip To-Do List

Despite living a stones throw from Liverpool for most of my life, I often ditched it in favour of Manchester. Travelodge* challenged me to find the perfect day out in Liverpool and so I decided it was about time I pay that city a proper visit…

A weekend is hardly complete without a brunch date, no? You can normally find me on a lazy Sunday at one of my favourite brunch spots in the city, falling head over heels for pancakes or Eggs Benedict. So brunch was first on my to-do list and where better than The Brunch Club?

Nestled away on Duke Street, this lively little spot is an industrial decor dream. It also happens to serve up a pretty wicked take on a traditional brunch dish, with eggs crab. I obviously had to try it and paired it with a Pornstar Martini (it was practically mid-day…) while Jamie went for a classic bagel with buttery spinach, bacon and poached eggs.

After filling up, we wandered over to Bold Street to stretch our legs and explore the vintage stores. If you’re into vintage fashion, records and cool interiors, Bold Street is the place to be. We whiled away the afternoon browsing in Soho vintage, Resurrection and Utility Design, with it’s scandi style and trinkets.travelodge-liverpool-to-do-list-brunch-015travelodge-liverpool-to-do-list-brunch-016travelodge-liverpool-to-do-list-brunch-017
We also made a stop of at Whisky Business, an indie store with only a small sign and a whisky barrel to give away it’s location. There’s also a rather cool cocktail bar attached that’s definitely worth a visit.

Finishing up our day, we popped into cheese & co, perfect for coffee or vino and a catch up, not to mention their brownies which are rather special (pretzel and salted caramel, I’m looking at you).

Thanks to Travelodge for sending us on this lil adventure. Liverpool, we’ll certainly be back! Do you have any recommendations for my next visit? What’s your favourite city destination?

Love Lucinda xx

  1. There’s a secret absinthe bar in Liverpool, if you go back you HAVE to go there it’s amazing, you’d love it. xx

Well, as they say “It’s 5o clock somewhere!” And there can be ANY excuse for a pornstar martini anytime, anywhere!
