“You’ve packed light Lucinda”… said no one ever. With a ‘hand luggage only’ trip to Cologne on the cards, panic mode set it. Cue an over stuffed case, forced closed by sheer will and that sizeable bottom of mine. After moving recently, I found a few items (read: three wardrobes worth) of clothing that I may or may not have forgotten about. So I decided to revamp an old favourite and pair it with some functional yet fabulous (obvs) items for my trip…
STRIPE SHIRT DRESS (similar) | GREY MIDI DRESS (similar) | CAT EYE SUNGLASSES | BLACK BLOCK HEEL SANDALS | CREAM & TAN RUCKSACK
My shirt dress doubles up as a duster coat (oh hey multifunctional) and looks great thrown over a casual grey midi. It’s got that ‘I just woke up and threw this on’ vibe about it. My midi is from Primark but I’ve linked a similar dress above, and there’s a lighter, more fitted version here. Sass sold separately.
Shoes are a. heavy and b. total space stealers so I went with a pair of block heel sandals for my trip. They’re perfect for exploring the city and look classy for drinks and dinner too. Though if you’re planning on doing lots of wondering around in the heat, I’d recommend packing a small pair of flats too.
Longchamp bags are perfect for city breaks – I carry around far too much stuff (abso necessary, honest) and they fit a surprising amount inside. Plus they fold up when you aren’t using them. Practical and chic, what more could you possibly want?
What do you think of the look? Have you been to Cologne? I’ll be sharing more about my trip soon!
A faux-ginger, gin drinking, digital marketing gal with a thing for food styling. That was basically my old Tinder bio... Living in Leeds, I'm forever heading out for dinner, buying too many clothes, spending 50% of my money on ubers and, as of now, putting my stamp on my new apartment!
