When it comes to Kylie Cosmetics, there has been a definite love/hate relationship. I’ve been excited to see what was coming since it was announced the Kylie had trademarked Kyshadow, Kybrow and Kyliner and she’s finally revealed the newest addition to her cosmetics line. Announcing the new product on the Kylie Cosmetics Instagram, Kylie showcased the 9 shade ‘Bronze Kyshadow’ palette which launches tomorrow. Cue crashing websites and overly excited Kardashi-fans…
Previous products have been notoriously difficult to get hold of, with the website crashing and selling out at each restock of her lip kits. There’s been endless complaints, from customers receiving opened or damaged kits, to not receiving them at all. Jeffree star went public with a crushing review and there was some raised eyebrows at how similar the formula for the liquid lipstick was to the ColourPop formula (a much cheaper alternative). Despite all the issues, I expect we’ll be seeing just as much craze over Kylie’s new creation. But will Kylie and her team have learned from their mistakes? Probably not.
Onto the reason you’re here: the palette is made up of nine matte, warm-toned shades, meant to suit a variety of skin tones. The swatches Kylie shared make the formulas look creamy and well pigmented. My only criticism would be that the whole thing is quite safe. They’re colours I already have in about 7 other palettes. Warm neutrals are hardly groundbreaking after all. But I do love copper and burnt orange/red shades so maybe they can spice up the look a little.
What do you think of Kylie’s newest addition to the collection? Will you be trying the Kyshadow palette or giving it a miss? Whatever your thoughts are, come 3pm tomorrow, the Kylie Cosmetics website will be all kinds’a crashing.
