Smart-Casual is the enigma of dress codes. Sure, guys can throw on a pair of good jeans with a shirt and they’re good to go. But when it comes to gals, things get a little more complex. Are heels and a dress too much? Will I be under-dressed in jeans? *calls all friends to see what they’re wearing and turns entire wardrobe into a floordrobe*. The ‘I have nothing to wear’ dilemma seems to creep up all too often when smart-cas is involved…
EMBROIDERED SHEER MAXI DRESS | STAN SMITH TRAINERS | METAL FLOWER CROWN (similar)
Insert the most spectacular and absolute bargain of a dress. Just like lots of online clothes stores, I find Boohoo switches between uh-mazing and blooming awful quality and I had my reservations about this dress. I mean, come on, £25 for a floor length dress with all the embroidery detail and a slip? But when it turned up I was more than impressed and proceeded to twirl around my living room in it like the sass queen I am.
But it’s hardly smart-cas I hear you cry (and by cry I mean possible consider for a sec before going back to lust over how gorgeous this li’l thang is). Well gals, it’s time to grab your trusty Stan Smiths/Huaraches/Whatever trainers the cool kids are wearing these days and go bold. You’ll be feeling chill AF and you can dance allllllll night.
And if anyone asks why you’re wearing a flooring length dress with trainers? Tell them it’s fashion darling and sashay away!
P.S I’ve been shortlisted for Best Fashion Blog in the Bloggers Blog Awards and would absolutely love your vote!
