On Wednesday’s we wear pink… like so much pink. I adore editorial looks that feature one key colour in different shades, so I thought I would take the trend for a spin. Before I started putting the look together, I wasn’t sure how it would work for day-to-day style but I would totally rock up to the office in this. To nail the head to toe pink look, there are a few things to think about to keep it chic…
PINK COAT WITH LEOPARD PRINT ACCENTS | PINK HIGH WAISTED TROUSERS | PINK COLD SHOULDER CAMI | CREAM ROLL NECK TOP | ROSE GOLD LOAFERS | PINK SHOPPER
Just because you’re sticking to one key colour doesn’t mean you can’t have a colour palette. Depending on your look, mixing light and dark can work. Here I’ve stuck to lighter shades of pink but I would throw in some bolder shades to toughen things up a little. I’ve also snuck in a cream polo neck to break things up.
Each part of the outfit is there because it adds something to the look (and I don’t just mean ’cause it hides my bum or whatevs). There’s the frill on the cami top, the leather look of the bag, the button and pocket details on the coat – it all works together to give the look more depth. Combining different materials gives it a much more editorial vibe too.
The polo under the cami, tucked into the high waisted trousers, all under that fabulous jacket; it’s layers of pink and it’s commitment to the look (there’s no half baked kinda matchy matchy two piece going on).
If you’re gonna make brave fashion choices, you have to style it out with a li’l sass of course!
