While most people look at kinda out there items of clothing and think ‘who would ever wear that?’, we all know I’ve already bought it, pulled the tags out and styled it up before you can say ‘Lucinda stop buying clothes you absolutely don’t need’. You know, like a jumper with giant pom poms on or heels covered in glitter and pom poms (there’s a trend here). Well this weeks accidentally on purpose purchase was a pair of sparkly silver disco boots and I’ve not had ’em off my feet! Get ready to bring a little glam to your everyday…
OVERSIZED CHUNKY KNIT JUMPER | METALLIC BRONZE PLEATED MIDI SKIRT* | SILVER ANKLE BOOTS | SIMPLE CIRCLE NECKLACE (similar) | STELLA FALABELLA BAG
It’s basically impossible to be unhappy in a pair of disco boots so I suggest you grab a pair asap. I wanted to style them in a wearable, everyday way so I added in more metallics (muted though) and a casual piece I’m obsessed with. I’m really feeling midi skirts right now and this metallic number from La Redoute was calling out for a spot in my wardrobe. The toned down bronze colour makes it easy to dress up or down – it was a party season fave of mine and I styled the midi skirt with all black and a little leopard print thrown in or my office party.
Considering my Winter wardrobe has become completely overrun with oversized jumpers (zero regrets, they’re cosy AF), it’s about time I styled up another one. It’s tempting to just throw jeans on with them everyday, ’cause that time spent rummaging through your wardrobe could be spent sleeping, but I’m mixing it up a bit and layering with textured pieces.
For accessories, I kept it simple with my double halo necklace from Dorothy Perkins (I can’t find it online but i’ve linked a similar one above) and my gorgeous khaki Stella bag a.k.a my new BFF.
What do you think? Would you test out the metallic trend?
