As much as I love getting dolled up in a little red dress and Louboutins, my wardrobe isn’t exactly packed to bursting with ‘dressy dresses’. I tend to go for more alternative looks with quirky pieces so I figured I’d share a Valentines look that’s a little different to the usual. Depending on my Valentines plans, I’d swap in a pair of heels and a Russian Red lip, but more than likely I’ll be playing ping pong in a pair of flats…
LACE DETAIL SHIRT* | OVERSIZED JUMPSUIT | BLACK BROGUES | CAT-EYE SUNGLASSES | MARC JACOBS BAKER WATCH | THREE BUCKLE LEATHER BELT (similar)
Can we take a sec to appreciate that beaaaautiful lace shirt? La Redoute do some blooming gorgeous takes on white shirts but this has gotta be my fave. The high neck keeps it classy while the lace detail shows off a little skin. The sleeves are straight rather than tapered so I rolled them up to give the arms a more tailored vibe.
The over-sized jumpsuit is the comfiest thing ever invented. I love throwing in on with a pair of trainers for a relaxed outfit, but it’s so easy to dress it up too. It’s the perfect piece for layering and I love the contrast of the (mostly) monochrome look. The ribbon tie makes it a really versatile piece too – I go undone for casual or tie it in front/behind depending on the look I’m going for.
I pulled the look together with a wide belt which also breaks up the colour from the rest of the all black accessories. The Doc Martens-esque brogues don’t look out of place with dressed up or casual vibes either, so they’re a great pair to have. I throw ’em on with skinny jeans and over-sized jumpers and they look just as chic.
What do you think of the look? Are you an over-sized wardrobe kinda gal?
